1-Octadecanol can be used instead of hexadecane alcohol, in cosmetics as cream, emulsifier, also used as rice insulation agent, reservoir covering agent, defoamer, polish, lubricant, intermediates, surfactants, gas chromatographic comparison samples, etc.
Application Field
1. Octadecanol can be used instead of hexadecanol, such as as as a dispersant in pharmaceuticals, as a cream and emulsifier in cosmetics, and as a rice field insulation agent, reservoir covering agent, defoamer, polishing agent, lubricant, etc. Octadecanol can be used in the production of Pingjia, resins and synthetic rubber, color film couplers, etc. Antioxidant 1076 (2082-79-3) can be prepared by reacting octadecanol with methyl β - (3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) propionate using sodium methoxid as a catalyst and dimethyl sulfoxide as a solvent at 130 ºC for 2-3 hours. This is an excellent non polluting and non-toxic antioxidant widely used in polyolefin, polyamide, polyester, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, ABS resin to expand various rubber petroleum products.
2. Can replace hexadecanol and be used as an additive in oil-based fracturing fluids. Octadecanol can be used in the production of Pingjia, resins and synthetic rubber, color film couplers, etc.
3. Used as a chromatographic reagent. It is also used as a surfactant and lubricant. Used for organic synthesis.
