Glyceryl tristearate is an organic substance with the chemical formula C57H110O6. It is a natural oil that is soluble in hot alcohol,  benzene and carbon disulfide, but insoluble in water,  ether and cold alcohol. It is mainly extracted from animal fat. It can be used as a molding agent, a glazing agent, a coating agent, and a crystallization catalyst. It is mainly used in the food, soap making and stearic acid production industries. It can also be used in metal surface treatment, adhesives, dentures, polishes and waterproof paper production.

Application Field
 

Glyceryl Tristearate is a formulation aid, lubricant, and release agent, prepared by reacting stearic acid with glycerol in the presence of a suitable catalyst. The additive is used as a crystallization accelerator in cocoa products; a formulation aid in confections; a formulation in fats and oils; and a winterization and fractionation aid in fat and oil processing.
